About Satellite Club

The Rotary Satellite Club of Richmond is a group of individuals who are members of the Main Rotary club of Richmond but meet in a separate, often smaller, setting with a different focus and meeting time and location. It essentially functions as a club within a club, designed to attract different types of members and provide a more tailored Rotary experience yet draws inspiration and guidance from a club with over a century of impactful service in Richmond, Virginia. The Rotary Satellite Club of Richmond was formed in 2025.

The Rotary Satellite Club of Richmond shares the same motto as The Rotary Club of Richmond "Service Above Self".  The Rotary Club of Richmond has made lasting contributions to the community through generous grants to non-profit organizations and thousands of volunteer
hours dedicated to those in need. This rich legacy provides a strong foundation for the Satellite Club, which extends the spirit and mission of Rotary to new members, new ideas, and new ways to serve.

The Rotary Satellite Club of Richmond shares the same dedication to community service, leadership, and fellowship—helping to expand Rotary’s reach and amplify its impact throughout Richmond and beyond. Together, both clubs work in harmony to build a better, more compassionate world.

The Objective of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

The Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings: Of the things we think, say, or do.

Is it the TRUTH?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
