Anthony Oppermann, General Manager of The Flying Squirrels; "Richmond Flying Squirrels 2026"

Anthony Oppermann is in his third stint with the Flying Squirrels and 12th year overall. He has over 17 yrs in Minor League Baseball. Anthony was named the Squirrel's General Manager in March 2025. Previously he served as Chief Marketing Officer, Assistant GM, Executive Director of Marketing & Promotions and Media Director.

An original radio voice of the Squirrels, he was The Diamond's public address announcer from 2017-2019. His baseball career has included stints with the Texas Round Rock Express, Daytona Cubs, Potomac Nationals, Reading Fightin Phils and Houston Astros.

The Texas Christian University alum is a native of La Grange, Texas where he worked as a sports copy editor with the Galveston County Daily News and was the publication's lead sports designer, covered high school and college athletics, wrote a weekly column and was a member of the editorial board. Anthony and his wife, Bree, reside in Glen Allen.
