Ed McLaughlin, VCU Athletic Director; "Building the Future: Revenue Sharing and the New VCU Model"

Ed McLaughlin serves as the VP and Athletic Director at VCU, a position he has held since July 2012. Known as a progressive leader in modern collegiate sports, he has guided the Rams through an incredibly successful transition into the Atlantic 10 Conference while cementing VCU’s status as a nationally competitive basketball-centric program.

He previously served as athletic director for Niagara University from 2006 to 2012 and as an assistant athletic director at American University and Merrimack College prior to his tenure at Niagara. The Natick, Mass native, is a 1995 graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He earned his master’s degree in health promotion management from American in 2005. He is married to Annette, has four children: Hannah who played Division 1 soccer at Clemson, Liam, Rian, a manager on the Men’s Basketball team and Dawson. He and his wife live in Richmond.
