Michela Worthington, Secretary
Michela Worthington grew up in McLean, Virginia. She earned a BS from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and both a BA and MS from The Johns Hopkins University. Sailing internationally as a Merchant Marine Officer aboard Maersk Line Ltd container ships allowed Michela to move to Richmond in 2000. Today, she is a real estate advisor and owner of The OwnRVA Group part of Real Broker. She has helped more than 150 families begin a new and exciting chapter in their lives through real estate.
Michela joined the Rotary Club of Richmond in 2022 and is a Paul Harris Fellow. She served as the club’s Public Image Chair for the past two years, helping the club earn the Public Image Award both years. She especially enjoys Rotary’s hands-on service projects, including building wheelchair ramps with Project Homes and chopping and delivering firewood for neighbors in need through Project Warm.
A breast cancer survivor, Michela is also a founding board member of Bucks 4 Boobs, the Rotary Club of Richmond’s breast cancer charity. Her own experience with breast cancer helped inspire the organization’s creation and its mission to raise awareness and support the fight against the disease.
Outside of Rotary and real estate, Michela is the mother of a teenage daughter and enjoys swimming, quilting, boating, and spending time with her two very active dogs. She is proud to call Richmond home and values the friendships, community connections, and opportunities to serve that she has found through Rotary.
