Rotary Community Club Grants
What we do better!
Each year our club donates to nonprofit organizations in Richmond. We listen to community organizations through our members and as a group through our luncheon and Board meetings. We adjust our grant and volunteer programs to evolving circumstances and needs. This year’s 2026 awardees are:
ReWork Richmond: $40,000. Empower underemployed adults in Richmond East End to obtain skills and support to qualify for and gain thriving careers.
Project Homes: $20,000. Provide accessibility modifications (ramps) and home safety repairs for older adults or those with disabilities.
ToolBank: $14,000. Grow and expand ToolBox program by increasing number of affordable workshops and launch a new lending program open to individual borrowers.
Salvation Army: $10,000. Support the Grace Street Emergency Shelter Program.
James River Association: $7,000. Expand initial conservation landscaping for James River Education Center.
CASA: $5,000. Provide advocacy to represent needs of child victims in the courtroom and beyond.
Capital Trees: $5,000. Support program planning and materials for workdays conducted by Community Engagement and Horticulture Managers.
Cross Over Healthcare Ministry: $5,000. Support day to day operations of two charitable clinics in Henrico and South Richmond.
GRASP: $5,000. Presentations for 8th grade students who, when informed of financial aid, may be encouraged to pursue postsecondary opportunities.
Project W.A.R.M. $5,000. Provide split wood for as many people as possible who rely on wood stoves for heat.
Sportable: $5,000. Create opportunities through sport, recreation, health, and wellness for those with physical disabilities and those requiring accommodation.
Spark: $5,000. Provide athletic equipment, music instruments, arts and drama supplies for student-led programs.
The Christmas Mother: $1,000.
The Rotary Club of Richmond Satellite Club: $1,000.
We infuse our actions with Rotary’s four-way test: Is it the truth, Is it fair to all concerned, Will it build goodwill and better friendships, and Will it be beneficial to all concerned.
Process for applicants: Each fall, our members contact non-profits to encourage applications and we publicize the availability of grants opportunities through our web site and social media. We offer multiple grants opportunities to help non-profits improve life for the people of the greater Richmond. Applications deadline: TBA
We publish summary information for our members and the non-profit audience; however, detailed information is limited to authorized members of the Rotary Club of Richmond.
Recipient non-profit organizations of the Rotary Club of Richmond's Community Grant Program are announced the first meeting of the club year when officers are announced, on or around July 1st.
