Annie Tobey, RVA Author; “100 Things to Do in Richmond Before You Die.”

Annie Tobey is an editor at Boomer Magazine & Ross Media Solutions, author of the 2023 "100 Things to Do in Richmond Before You Die," and freelance writer covering local craft beverages and active travel. The native Richmonder has seen the city blossom and grow. She has experienced the best of Richmond as a fun-loving resident and through the lens of a travel writer. 

A native Virginian, Annie has lived in several parts of the country only to return to Richmond. She is both a freelance writer and an editor/writer for Boomer magazine, where her daughter is also on staff. 

She is an award-winning writer, magazine editor, and beer columnist who enjoys covering local craft beverages, museums, restaurants, and more. A long-distance runner, she has also created history-focused Richmond running routes, fine-tuning appreciation for her hometown.

Her freelance work has appeared in local and national publications, and she has worked as staff writer for several organizations including International Training Consultants, Inc., Life Logic, LLC, V Magazine for Women, and Individual Rights. She also has edited book manuscripts and business materials, to ensure that clients' words convey the quality of their brands.

She is a graduate of the University of Richmond with a BA English.  In her spare time, she is a tennis and softball enthusiast, but says, “Most of the time I have away from working is spent running; there isn’t much time for anything else!”
